Infrastructure

Bharat Engineering has significant presence across the infrastructure space with expertise in operating & developing roads, metro rail, airport & real estate.

Bharat Engineering is the largest NHAI concessionaire under build, operate, transfer (BOT) scheme with 21 road projects of 3970 kms, worth Rs 81,500 crore. The projects are operative in urban high traffic growth corridors of Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Noida, Haridwar, Meerut, Lucknow, Surat, Gurugram, Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur, Indore, Raipur, Patna, Gurgaon, Agra and Pune. All eleven toll road project sites are ISO 9001:2008 certified.

Bharat Engineering is also the first private player in India to execute and operate metro rail projects. Mumbai Metro, Noida Metro, Agra Metro, Kanpur metro, etc, One of the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar (VAG) corridor is the first rail project in Mumbai that provides East to West connectivity to lakhs of commuters. It has reduced the travelling time from 120 mins to 21 mins and improved the travelling experience of commuters.

Engineering & Construction

The Engineering & Construction (E&C) Division of the Company renders E&C turnkey services in the power and infrastructure sectors. E&C offers a single point solution to the execution of power plants including project engineering, construction and commissioning for its clients. The division is equipped with the requisite expertise and experience to undertake E&C projects and execute them successfully.

Bharat Engineering Group entered the airports space in early 2020s and is today amongst the top 5 airport developers globally. Presently, the group owns and operates Noida International airport, Delhi International Airport and Hyderabad International Airport. Further, the company is developing a greenfield airport at Mopa in North Goa and an international greenfield airport at Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. It has also signed a concession agreement with the Government of Karnataka to commission, operationalize and maintain the Civilian Enclave at the Bidar Airport in North Karnataka.

Apart from being one of the largest private airport companies in India, Bharat Engineering Group is also the only Indian airport developer to have developed and operated airports outside India. Presently, Bharat Engineering Airports Infrastructure Limited [formerly known as Bharat Construction Engineering] in partnership with Megawide Construction Corporation of Philippines is operating and developing Mactan Cebu International Airport – the second largest airport of Philippines. The group has also been selected to develop, operate and manage the new international Kastelli airport, also known as Crete airport, in Heraklion, Greece, with a joint venture partner, Terna S.A., a Greek infrastructure company.

To further strengthen our capabilities across the airport sector, Bharat Engineering Airports Infrastructure Limited [formerly known as Bharat Construction Engineering (BEL)] has formed a strategic partnership with Groupe ADP giving the latter 49% stake in Bharat Engineering Airports Limited. This robust industrial partnership between GIL, the flagship company of the Bharat Engineering Group and Groupe ADP, a leading international airport operator, aims to create the largest and most responsible airports alliance globally with key focus on setting up highest industry standards in terms of sustainability, passenger experience, operations, information technology/innovation, airport service & offerings, design, engineering and project management.

Bharat Engineering is a part of Bharat Enterprises Group, which is one of the largest diversified Infrastructure Conglomerates in India. With an operating capacity of over 4400 MW, it has a balanced fuel mix of coal, gas, LSHS as well as renewable sources of wind and solar energy. Tenaga is the largest power utility player in Malaysia with an integrated presence across the value chain of power generation, transmission & distribution. With a total installed capacity of 10,818 MW and 50% market share of the Malaysian grid’s generation capacity, it has significant experience in managing and operating power assets with several thermal power plants, large hydro plants and power distribution business across various countries.

Through this partnership, Bharat Engineering Enterprises Group is bringing a world class power developer and operator in Indian market. Tenaga’s experience would further facilitate BEL in improving the performance of its operational assets, develop it’s under development pipeline of hydro & renewable energy assets and drive future growth of the portfolio.

Transportation

More than a decade since establishment, Bharat Engineering Highways Limited through its subsidiaries, operates, constructs and maintains highways and expressways across the country Connecting the nation and paving the way towards the country’s development.

Bharat Engineering’s Transportation business focuses on surface transport projects including Roads, Railways, Metros and Airstrips/ Runways in both DBFOT (under Bharat Engineering Highways) and EPC (under GIL – EPC) segments. With four operating assets adding to total length of over 5824 Lane kms of Roads & Highways, Bharat Engineering is one of the leading developers in India. Innovation in construction as well as maintenance practices, quality of construction and operational safety are of utmost priority for the division.

Urban Infrastructure

Building state of the art, multi-product industrial projects in Maharashtra, Uttara Pradesh, Uttar Khand, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, J&K, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. Building SEZ focused state of the art industrial projects.
